Summary
With love and the healing power of other dogs Basil has been transformed from a
sodden wet bundle of petrified fur to a happy, confident, perky little chap. He’s
come on in leaps and bounds at the sanctuary. Now he’s ready for the next part
of his journey - a home of his own.
History
Basil was discovered hiding from the world behind refuse bins. It was pouring
with rain and he was soaked through, shaking with cold and fear.

Safely taken to the sanctuary he remained terrified and wouldn’t interact with either dogs or
people. After a week he was gradually introduced to a few chosen dogs and cats.
Slowly the fear passed. Not only did Basil relax in the company of dogs but he
decided he loved cats! The vet confirmed Basil was not microchipped and sadly
nobody came forward to claim him despite a 2 week appeal.

Personality
Basil takes his time to warm to new people but when he does, you’ve got a friend
for life. He’s in his happy place being part of the pack, often running and tumbling with
dogs more than twice his size. When he’s not encouraging other dogs to get up
and have a run around he’s a top notch referee and takes his job of overseeing
other dogs’ play very seriously.
He also adores cats!

Compatibility
Basil is very happy in the company of dogs and cats. Any children in the
household should be over the age of 10.

Medical
Vaccinated against rabies, neutered and microchipped. Basil will be screened for
all mediterranean diseases before departing for his new life.
